Left the country for a year and neglected to update this site…
Back now, was racing at Blackpool last Friday (how fast are Falcon 7’s?) and I will at least be doing the BSL this year - not decided about BSCRA events yet. Cash is tight and trying to move up the rankings is going to cost - motors were never my strong point!
Anyway, see you at the races,

JayGee Racing has released an article that featured in the American SCB magazine. The article dicusses several design design features and concepts, and includes schematics for the linear 100 controller JayGee Racing markets. Well worth a read if you plan to build your own controller.
Grab it here. [pdf, 400k]

With the new track at Dudley hosting its first BSL this season, it was decided to combine the 2 Birmingham rounds into a full weekend of racing, to make the events more attractive to the Scottish and Northern English competitors.
So on the weekend of 25th/26th of March, there will be the following racing:
- 25th March - BSL Oaklands
- 26th March - BSL Dudley
There will be a meal at Dudley club on Saturday Night - along with some practice. We are also informed that there is an off licensce and pub close to the venue as well - so all bases are covered.

The Fylde BOC was a great sucess, attracting 23 entrants. The track ran well, and the revised format gave everyone plenty of track time. Personally, I really enjoyed the 75 lap finals in Sports. The 50 lap finals in F1 were ok too - I just cant drive F1’s so it wasnt too much fun :-0.
The winners were as follows:
Saloon: Graeme Stephenson
F1: Graeme Stephenson
Sports: Paul Harwood
Overall: Graeme Stephenson
Div 1: Dave Coward
Div 2: Stuart Tennent
Overall In the BOC, Brian won, with Charlie second. Paul Harwood was 3rd - he needed to win Sports to beat Paul Sheperd, which he did. Woody had the faster car in the final, andhe caught and passed Paul twice - but Woody couldnt keep it in. George Kimber was closing Pauls down as well but Paul held on for the win.
Sports provided me with my beast ever finish in the BOC - 8th. Thanks to Martin Ellis for the car loan.
Top 15 results can be found on the BSCRA web site here.

This weekend, Fylde host the Final Round of the 2005/2006 1/32nd BOC. Fylde have a great clubroom, with plenty of space and hope for a great turnout. Steve has designed a new race format, with segmented racing in Saloon and longer, single lane finals in F1 and Sports.
On a personal note, this is the first BOC that I will be attending where I have actually driven the track before, and my best chance for a good result.
Full details are available on the Fylde website.

A great article on setting up C-Can motors can be found here.
C-Cans are a worldwide standard motor class, designed to produce a standard motor. The article deals with the many steps needed to set up motors perfectly - basically blueprinting where the alignment and dimensions of the mass produced components are made to match the actual design.
You can of course buy blueprinted motors which will fly straight out of the box - but this brings major price premiums and some people just prefer to do their own work and learn.

This Website is intended to provide a central location for race reports, technical info and more for UK slot racers. In time I want to cover as much of the racing as possible within the UK, But I will start with BSL, 1/32nd BOC and the 1/32nd Nationals. Racers from the S32 series and others are more than welcome to publish on this site - just email me or see me at a race meeting.
